Contract Billing Specialist

Contract Billing Specialist- Timmins

​The Contract Billing Specialist role focuses primarily on the collection of project progress data to invoice customers and produce financial reports for on-going projects. This position reports directly to the Construction Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • New billing and project setup in the system according to contracts documents
  • Preparing and organizing documentation necessary to issue invoices
  • Communicating with customers via phone, email or in-person
  • Identifying, preparing, and recording all billable activity within month-end time constraints
  • Successfully resolving all billing-related client requests and inquiries
  • Obtaining management sign-off on all billable activities
  • Completing any client requested insurance and other related documents
  • Investigating and resolving any irregularities, adjustments, or enquiries

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting, business administration or related study
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a departmental role with project administration and accounting experience
  • Proficient in MS Excel and good understanding of MS Office Suite
  • Experience in the industrial/mining industry is an asset.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

A Contract Billing Specialist must perform their tasks with a high level of accuracy and precision. The individual must be highly organized and detail-oriented, in addition to being able to work collaboratively with other departments. They must possess the following qualifications:
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be self-sufficient and make day to day decisions about accounts
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • An ability to prioritize
  • Ability to speak and work with upper management
  • Ability to work within deadlines
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to carry out assigned projects to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and expertise in using payment processing systems / customer billing and payment portals
